The 2016 Olympic Summer Games will kick off in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil this Friday, so to celebrate, we found some sexy male athletes to keep your eyes on. Here’s 15 we’ll be watching (and you can follow their Instagrams as well)!
1. Nico Hernandez – boxing
He loves tattoos and each of them have a special meaning to him. He’s from Wichita, Kansas.
2. Carlin Isles – rugby
Carlin is from Ohio and is internationally known as the “fastest man in rugby”. He discovered rugby while training as a track-and-field athlete.
3. Jake Dalton – gymnastics
Dalton hails from Nevada and became involved with gymnastics through his baseball coach. His interests include camping, hiking, sports cars, electronics and reading military books. Sir, yes sir!
4. David Boudia – diving
This sexy thing is married with children. He has been diving since 2000 and will release his first book later this year. Boudia’s ultimate goal was to win an Olympic gold medal, which he accomplished at the 2008 London Games. He enjoys competitive sports (football, basketball and soccer), reading, video games, and hanging out with friends
5. Marvin Bracy – track and field
Bracy comes from Florida. He became a professional runner at age 19. While in high school, made one of ESPN SportsCenter’s top 10 plays during one of his meets.
6. Garrett Bender – rugby
Rugby is always a very sexy sport and Bender makes it better. He is from Minneapolis and his hobbies include relaxing, sleeping and eating. We wouldn’t mind joining him for some R and R!
7. Kerron Clement – track and field
Clement is a model and actor, and his hobbies include photography and singing. He’s from Texas and once appeared in a music video for Beyoncé. He has also shocked the world by breaking running records.
8. Casey Eichfeld – kayaking
Eichfeld’s hobbies include mountain biking, swimming, and climbing. The Pennsylvanian is competing for the gold medal for canoe kayak.
9. Nate Ebner – rugby
Unff! Another rugby player from Ohio (what are they feeding them up there?). He also plays professional American football and actually won a Super Bowl championship during his third season with the NFL’s New England Patriots.
10. Chris Brooks – gymnastics
Brooks is one of the sexy gymnasts we’ll be watching. He’s from Texas and began gymnastics in 1991. His interests include cars and motorcycles. And his favorite event is horizontal bar, so expect him to slay when he arrives there.
11. Danell Leyva – gymnastics
Levya is competing for the gold in artistic gymnastics. He was born in Cuba and moved to the United States at age two. Spanish is his first language but he can also speak conversational Italian, Romanian and Japanese; he is also currently studying Portuguese. Enjoys playing the piano, painting, drawing, football, music, cartoons and comics.
12. Michael Hixon – diving
Michael started diving when he was seven years old. Michael enjoys basketball, golf, running and biking, and he would like to be a diving coach when he’s older. He says the mental aspect of the sport is the hardest part about his training.
13. Sam Mikulak – gymnastics
Thank God for gymnastics! Mikulak co-founded an herbal tea company called MatéBros with two of his hometown gymnastics buddies. He enjoys long-boarding, beatboxing, skeet shooting and playing tennis, soccer, football and golf. His favorite event is pommel horse, and we’ll love staring at him while he does that.
14. Madison Hughes – rugby
Hughes is a sexy rugby player. He began playing rugby at age seven. Grew up in England and his favorite magazine was Sports Illustrated. His hobbies include playing golf and reading.
15. Steven Lopez – taekwondo
Steven is from Nicaragua and now he’ll be grappling for gold!
