2018 Academy Award Nominations: ‘Get Out’ and ‘Lady Bird’ Score Big With No Love for James Franco

Tiffany Hadidsh and Andy Serkis announced the 2018 Academy Award nominations Tuesday morning. The Oscars will be handed out on March 4.

Both Lady Bird and Get Out walked away with big nominations, including Best Picture and Best Director for both. Obvious omissions from the list were James Franco who won a Best Actor Golden Globe for his role in The Disaster Artist, as well as Armie Hammer who was praised for his supporting role in Call Me By Your Name.

Also to note, no women of color were nominated in the Best Actress category, as well as no men of color in the Best Supporting Actor category.
