Intrigued about what the fashion world has in store for you this fall? London officially kicked off Men’s Fashion Week this past weekend and gave us a glimpse of what’s coming in the future. Known for its wacky style and wicked sense of humor, London presented collections of youthful, vibrant and sometimes functional clothes for this fall.
Each designer has his or her unique point of view, but we were able to spot five common trends presented throughout the shows. For our stylish set, here are the five trends for men from London’s Fall/Winter Fashion Week.
We typically see dark and somber color palettes at the fall/winter shows, but designers are breaking away from it this season and sending out guys in vibrant colors—pastel pink, canary, purple. Bobby Abley even has Power Rangers-inspired looks from his collection. It’s a pride celebration that never ends.
Several designers have incorporated patchwork-inspired knitwear into their collections. This updated technique by designers ranging from JW Anderson to Alex Mullins makes patchwork look fresh and whimsical. If you love mix-and-match prints, this look is for you.
3. Flowy Pants
Designers are giving us a new option when it comes to the width of pants this season. John Lawrence sent out beautifully tailored wide width pants and created a sartorial feel to this trend. The best way to wear this look is by pairing the flared pant with a fitted knit or outerwear.
4. Oversized Outerwear
Balenciaga started this exaggerated look last season, and this “oversized” trend continued this season at London Fashion Week. Songzio sent out models in oversized bomber jackets and balanced that shape with subtle details. If you love the loose-and-baggy fit, this style is tailor-made for you.
Athleisure has been a dominant trend for the past few seasons. Designers like Christopher Raeburn have elevated the look by adding details like zippers and buckles, making the garment comfortable to wear and functional.
