On December 3, audiences members are invited to drop their pants at Afterglow, playing at the Davenport Theatre in New York City. The long-running off-Broadway play features a sexy cast of gay men who show quite a lot of skin themselves, so we feel it’s a perfect fit to have audience members strip down to their birthday suits, too.
The one-act play explores the emotional, intellectual and physical connections between three men. Josh and Alex (Brandon Haagenson and Robbie Simpson) are a married couple in an open relationship, and they invite Darius (Patrick Reilly) to share their bed one night. When a new intimate connection begins to form, all three men must come to terms with their individual definitions of love, loyalty and trust as futures are questioned, relationships are shaken and commitments are challenged.
The show opens with a post-coital scene. While wiping lube stains off the sheets, the three men begin their complicated and challenging poly-relationship that leaves audience members on the edge of their seats for 80 minutes.
Time Out New York reports that the organization hosting this event has more naked programming planned for the next few months in New York City.
Hosted by Go Naked, an events and travel network for male-identifying adventurers looking to undress in social environments, the event will be held at the Davenport Theatre at 6pm and features free clothes check and a nude Q&A with the cast after the show. If you can’t make this one, Go Naked is blowing up over the next few months: they host Fuck Clothes, Go Naked in Queens on December 14; Deck Your Balls at 2B Studios on December 16; and trips to Honduras and beyond in 2018.
