Haters Throw an Anti-Gay Rally and Only 47 People Show Up, Including Babies

For months, the National Organization for Marriage have been planning an anti-gay marriage march in Washington, DC.

Attempting to raise funds, the organization’s leader Brian Brown sent out an email.

It read:

“The March for Marriage is an important event to keep the fight to restore marriage in the public eye. It was in 2015 when the U.S. Supreme Court issued their illegitimate, anti-constitutional ruling in Obergefell v. Hodges imposing gay ‘marriage’ on the nation and unleashing a flood of consequences for the overwhelming majority of Americans who continue to revere marriage as the union of one man and one woman.’

On their website, Brown wrote a  few days prior to the march:

I am very excited to be in Washington, DC tomorrow for this year’s critically-important March for Marriage. We are expecting an enthusiastic and diverse crowd of marriage supporters who will be there to demonstrate that the American people continue to support marriage as the union of one man and one woman. That’s a message the US Supreme Court needs to hear, as does the Trump administration and Congress as they consider religious liberty protections to protect people of faith from discrimination because of their views about marriage, life, gender and similar issues.

Well, the enthusiastic and diverse crowd of marriage supporters totaled 47 people, including babies.

Beth Ethier was there, and she documented the low turnout at the rally in the shadow of the Capital building.

Major fail.

We’re glad to see that Brown’s attempts at hate mongering didn’t work this time.

But Brown says even if there was only one person in the crowd, he’d do what he he does.
