Blake Lively Slams Red Carpet Reporter: ‘Would You Ask a Man That?’
Blake Lively is not here for your senseless questions about fashion.
At Variety’s Power of Women event, Lively was honored for her work fighting child pornography. On the red carpet, one reporter asked her about what she was wearing, According to USA Today, Lively responded: “Really? At this event, you’re asking me about my outfit? Seriously… would you ask a man that?”
During the exchange, Lively added that she was at the event to promote her work with the Child Rescue Coalition. The Gossip Girl actress is partnering with the coalition, which uses technology to track down people who share or download explicit images of children, according to its website.
“I’m here so we … become more aware, and that we change, and that we build women up,” Blake Lively said in the interview. “So, you can ask me another question.”
Thankfully for us, the tail-end of Blake Lively’s exchange was caught by another reporter standing nearby:

The above exchange reminds us of Celine Dion on a recent red carpet. The singer similarly responded to a reporter who tried bringing up drama between Beyonce and Adele at the premiere of Beauty and the Beast.
“I do not want to be rude to you, but I am not hear for talking about the Grammys, sir,” Dion said to him. “I’m here to talk about Beauty and the Beast and I hope you know where you are tonight. I do no want you to miss any moment from the Beauty and the Beast.”
In 2015, a campaign called #AskHerMore encouraged reporters to ask actresses more than what they wearing on red carpets. It got support from Hollywood’s A-listers, including Reese Witherspoon, Shonda Rhimes, Lena Dunham and others.
