During the solar eclipse on Monday, Bonnie Tyler performed her hit song “Total Eclipse of the Heart” with DNCE aboard a Royal Caribbean cruise. She performed her signature 1983 hit onboard a “Total Eclipse Cruise” sailing through the path of totality and the shadow of the moon.

Thanks to the solar eclipse the song skyrocketed to #1 on iTunes today and was up 267% on Amazon. Her greatest hits album is currently #3 on its Movers and Shakers list.

Monday’s eclipse was the first in a century to cross the continental United States, coast to coast, and the first since the nation’s founding that will pass directly over only this country.

Many celebs took to Twitter to make sure people knew they were watching.

Ross Mathews tweeted, “Love watching the #eclipse on TV. Feels good to experience something together as a country that isn’t depressing. #GoodNews”

Billy Eichner took a more humorous approach to the whole thing, writing, “Remember the movie TOTAL ECLIPSE where you could see Leonardo Dicaprio’s penis? Anyway, I’m Emmy nominated.”

When asked by CNN’s John Berman if you can stare into a total eclipse of the heart without glasses, Bonnie Tyler responded, “That’s a good one. I will definitely be wearing my glasses later, but I’m sure that you can look into my heart. I wear it on my sleeve.”

One person commented on her interview with CNN, “Can we all take a moment to appreciate Bonnie Tyler? If it wasn’t for her we wouldn’t even have eclipses.”
