Earlier this week, we reported on an announcement that Brian McCook, also known as Katya, shared on his Instagram to his 1.1 million followers. In the video, he announced he would be taking a break from drag in order to concentrate on his mental health.

“I’m telling you this with a sense of urgency,” he shared. “I’m not dying. Let me tell you the truth. I’m not dying, I want to live. I’m a drug addict, but I’m sober. Today, and yesterday. And before. But I need to take a vacation, because I want to survive, like Gloria Gaynor.”

In a new announcement made on his Twitter, Brian McCook doubled down on his remarks and clarified that his mental health break means he won’t be performing at all in 2018.

Brian McCook shared:

Hi, my name is not Katya. I am Brian, a recovering drug addict and workaholic. I need to take some personal time for my mental health to heal and recover. All of my tours and shows will be postponed until 2019. Local venues will provide an update over the next several weeks. I love you all, and love is more powerful than money. And because this is “online” I have to tell a joke so you know I’m serious. I still Hate Taylor Swift. Peace be with you.
