Caitlyn Jenner Says She Wore That Pro-Trump ‘Make America Great Again’ Cap by Accident
Transgender Trump voter Caitlyn Jenner was spotted this Thursday wearing Trump’s iconic, red “Make America Great Again” cap, barely a week after Trump directed the military to kick out all of its currently serving transgender service members. (That same day his Department of Justice also said that current federal civil rights laws do not apply to LGBTQ people.)
Jenner’s fashion choice enraged LGBTQ people who saw it as another indication of her continued support of probably the worst president we’ve ever had. (He’s right up there with ultra-corrupt William Harding and William Henry Harrison, the president who died of pneumonia after 30 days in office.)
Anyway, Jenner has now said that her hat choice was purely by accident. She claimed that before driving from her Malibu home to Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks, California, she realized she needed a hat and grabbed one at random from 10 in her closet without looking at the stitching.
She claims to have removed the hat and left it in her car when she got to the club. It was only after she returned to the car an hour later that she picked up the hat from her car floor and saw its “Make America Great Again” stitching. She reportedly felt horrified and said of Trump’s military ban, “What he’s doing to our community is absolutely fucking awful.”
Nevertheless, she continued wearing the hat during her drive home because she didn’t want the wind in her convertible to mess up her hairdo. That’s when a photographer snapped a photo of her wearing it.
TMZ reports, “As for what to do with the hat, she’s thinking of signing it and auctioning it off and giving the proceeds to a transgender cause. On the other hand, she might just rip it up or burn it.”
She said, “I apologize to all of the trans community. I made a mistake. I will never do it again and I’m getting rid of the hat.”
