A judge called former House Speaker Dennis Hastert a “serial child molester” as he sentenced Hastert to 15 months in federal prison for illegal withdrawing cash to pay off one of his alleged sex-abuse victims. In his testimony, the 74-year-old Republican said that he “took advantage”, “hurt” and “mistreated” some of the 14 to 17-year-old boys he oversaw while working as a wrestling coach at Yorkville High School during the ’70s and ’80s, but he never used the word “abused.”

Hastert has a history of shady financial dealings and covering up for other Republican child molesters. In 1998, he also helped lead the impeachment vote against then President Bill Clinton — yes, a child molester tried to impeach the president for lying about an adult extramarital affair. Let that simmer for a bit.
