While Donald Trump has a had a few relationships under his belt, he’s tried to have a lot more. Actresses are opening up about their awkward encounters with the President when he tried getting in their pants.
The latest, Brooke Shields, is maybe the most cringeworthy of all. We decided to look back on a few other instances where celebrities denied the sexual advances of Donald Trump.
Here are 5 women who denied Donald Trump’s sexual advances:
1. Brooke Shields
Brooke Shields shared a story on Watch What Happens Live! earlier this week of a time when the now-President tried to score a date with her nearly two decades ago.
“I was on location doing a movie and he called me right after he had gotten a divorce,” Shields told Andy Cohen. “He said, ‘I really think we should date because you’re America’s sweetheart and I’m America’s richest man and the people would love it.”
She responded: “I have a boyfriend.”
2. Candace Bergen
Bergen also recently dropped by Cohen’s show and said that she was set up on a blind date with Trump back in the 70’s. “He was wearing a three-piece burgundy suit and burgundy patent leather loafers in a burgundy limousine,” she said while wearing a “Free Melania” sweater.
Bergen was quick to clarify that there was no chemistry on the date and that she ended up going home very early. She adds, “There was no physical contact whatsoever.”
“He was a good-looking guy and a douche,” she concluded.
3. Salma Hayek
Hayek told Trevor Noah on the Daily Show that the Trump asked her out after befriending her boyfriend.
In the above clip, she says: “He’s inviting me out, and I’m like, ‘What about my boyfriend? Am I crazy? Are you asking me out? You know I have a boyfriend,’ ” she says, adding that Trump responded with, ”He’s not good enough for you. He’s not important, he’s not big enough for you. You have to go out with me.”
That wasn’t the first time Hayek opened up about her encounter with Trump. Last October, she said that she told Trump she wouldn’t be interested even if she was single, and claims he hit back at her rejection by planting a fake tabloid story about her.
“I had a boyfriend, and [Trump] tried to become his friend to get my home phone numbers,” Hayek said on El Show del Mandril, according to an excerpt posted by BuzzFeed. “When I told him I wouldn’t go out with him even if I didn’t have a boyfriend … he called, well he wouldn’t say he called, but someone told the National Enquirer.”
“I’m not going to say who, because you know that whatever he wants to come out comes out in the National Enquirer. It said that he wouldn’t go out with me because I was too short,” she said.
4. Emma Thompson
Thompson explained that when filming the 1998 film Primary Colors shortly after she had finalized her divorce from Kenneth Branagh, Trump phoned her in her trailer.
“So I lift up the phone — ‘Hi, it’s Donald Trump here,’” Thompson recalled performing a half-impression. “And I said, ‘Really? Can I help you?’ And he said, ‘Yeah, I just wondered if I could offer you some accommodation in one of my Trump Towers. They’re really comfortable.”
“Well, I think we would get along very well — maybe have dinner sometime,” Thompson remembered him saying.
“I didn’t know what to do with myself,” Thompson told the audience. “I just said, ‘I’ll get back to you.’”
5. Nancy O’Dell
Trump shared the story himself of the time when Nancy O’Dell declined his sexual advances after an infamous video leaked one year ago this week.
On the video’s audio you can hear Trump talking to Billy Bush, O’Dell’s former co-anchor, about trying to hit on O’Dell.
“I moved on her, actually,” Trump said. “You know, she was down on Palm Beach. I moved on her, and I failed. I’ll admit it… I did try and fuck her. She was married.”
“I moved on her very heavily. In fact, I took her out furniture shopping. She wanted to get some furniture. I said, ‘I’ll show you where they have some nice furniture.’ I took her out furniture — I moved on her like a bitch. But I couldn’t get there. And she was married.”
