Break Out the Tissues: Read the Heartwarming Letter This Kid Sent His Gay Big Bro

Sometimes you just need a little pick-me-up. If you’re having one of those days, this adorable letter could leave you feeling a little bit better about the world. And not only is this kid’s letter to his gay big brother sweet, but this kid is clearly wise beyond his years.
On Monday podcaster Erick Endres shared the letter on his Twitter. He prefaced it, “I have something incredibly humbling to share with you. Earlier today, I came home from work, and found a card in an envelope placed on top of my pillow with my name. Inside the envelope was a card/letter handwritten by my youngest brother. He knows and accepts me.”
He posted this image of the adorable letter:
The letter reads:
Erick, I just want you to know that I love you. We don’t have time in this life to be sad or hide who we really are because before you know it, it could be too late. Love whoever you want, just love hard, I support and will support you in any way possible.
I know we’re not the closest, but I just wanna let you know that I know and I don’t care because it doesn’t change you as a person. So if you ever need to get anything off your chest, I’m right here.
You don’t have to find your identity alone! I love, I care, and I support you, Erick. Love, Sean
P.S. I’ve known a while because of Twitter. I just want you to know it’s OK and I’m here for whatever you need.
Of course, the adorable letter almost immediately went viral, with 667 retweets and over 5,800 likes as of this writing. Many replies talked about how beautiful the letter was, and how “this is what every LGBTQIA person needs and deserves to be told.”
Beyond that, a few people also chimed in with their own happy stories. We’re fond of what @KDean1010 wrote: “I came out to my sister with pie. Because … it made sense. Her reaction: ‘I love you and this pie is damn delicious. Wanna come out every week with this pie?’”
