In its 20th year, Folsom Street East returned to New York City on Sunday, June 18 to celebrate the fetish kink and LGBTQ communities. Sunday was Father’s Day, and we never saw so many hot daddies in one place at one time! Even Dan Savage and his beau Terry Miller were there.
Hundreds of attendees gathered at the largest outdoor LGBTQ and allied kink-fetish festival on the East Coast. Folsom Street East, Inc. celebrates and inspires participation and pride in fetish, kink, and LGBTQ communities through the creation of safe spaces for public expression of our sexual identities. They also promote and provide grants to other nonprofit organizations serving these communities as well.
Folsom Street’s mission statement includes:
- We envision a world where sexual self-discovery and fulfillment is supported by an environment that is safe, sane and affirming.
- We envision a world where access to a diversity of fetish/kink community spaces is expanded and fear of stigma and negative repercussions are diminished.
- We envision a world where all people are empowered to challenge sexual norms and embrace and add to a broad spectrum of sexual identities and expressions.
Sounds fabulous to us!
Folsom Street East’s Street Festival welcomes practitioners, novices and their friends who are interested in the fetish world to publicly explore the otherwise suppressed side of their sexuality and identity.
The festival hosts more than forty exhibitors including community groups and commercial businesses that serve our community.
The faces of Folsom Street East are very diverse and proud. We scoured Instagram to bring you some of the best snaps from the fun-filled day. From leather daddies to sub pups to dom divas, there really is something for everyone at Folsom Street East. Don’t believe us? See for yourself.
