Comet Ping Pong — the gay-owned Washington D.C. pizzeria recently attacked by a gunman “investigating” the unfounded #Pizzagate rumors of a child sex ring located in the restaurant’s non-existent basement — has just started a crowdfunding campaign for increased security, repaying lost wages to its fleeing workers and repairs for the gun damage it sustained.
At the time of publication, the campaign raised $11,815 of its $28,000 goal. In addition to having gay owners, Comet Ping Pong also provides a venue to local queer and non-queer artists, so it’s worth protecting, especially as other queer-friendly art spaces burn to the ground on the other side of the country.
