Nintendo Switch’s Setup Screen Might Feature a Japanese Gay Porn Star
There’s an oddball theory circulating around Japan that a gay porn star appears in a set-up screen for the new Nintendo Switch console. According to Kotaku, the porn star in question is named “Go” (probably not his birth name) and he appeared in A Midsummer’s Night Lewd Dream, a 2001 gay porn flick that shows three young athletes getting forced into gay sex after accidentally rear-ending a Yakuza gangster’s car — rear ending (tee-hee).
A Midsummer’s Night Lewd Dream is well-known in Japan both for its horrible acting and for outing a Japanese pro-baseball player Kazuhito Tadano. Tadano later played as a pitcher for the Oakland A’s, though he’s reportedly a “catcher” in the film, if you know what we mean. He has also said that he’s not gay, but we digress.
Go from A Midsummer’s Night Lewd Dream became semi-famous after its release thanks to the “Go is God” meme in Japan. Here’s a small sampling:

Someone familiar with a shot of Go looking at a cell phone saw a illustration that looked very similar to Go in the Nintendo Switch’s photo album set-up screen.
It’s likely pure coincidence — the looking-at-a-cell-phone pose is pretty common, though their similar hairdo is uncanny. If Nintendo gets wind of this, they’ll likely remove Go from a future version of their set-up screen, but until then, it makes for a delightfully naughty joke, even if you’ve never seen A Midsummer’s Night Lewd Dream.
