A young gay rodeo cowboy from Australia says he will not give in to the homophobes trying to drive him from his favorite sport with death threats.

In a video posted on Facebook last month, Joshua Goyne said that he had been attacked for being an openly gay cowboy.

Goyne added that he’d gotten death threats for participating in rodeos. One man said he wished it was 1850 “so he could shoot me for being a fag.”

He went on to say, “Rural Australia has a terrible problem with homophobia, and it needs to stop.”

“They think they’re going to silence me,” Goyne added. “There’s no chance in hell.”
