English artist Damien Hirst, known for his sculpture of a diamond-encrusted skull and an installation with a pickled shark, just uncovered a new portrait of pop icon George Michael. Made with household gloss, the painting is called Beautiful Beautiful George Michael Love Painting.

The painting will be sold at a charity gala held by the Foundation MTV Re:Define on Friday in Dallas, Texas.

Executive Director Georgia Arnold told The Sun, “This year is poignant as we celebrate George. We’ve been honoured by his and Kenny’s support. We look forward to continuing to raise awareness and support for our mission, and especially thank all the artists for their involvement and generosity.”

The event will be co-chaired by the Goss-Michael Foundation that George created with his ex Kenny Goss.

The openly gay pop music pioneer died last Christmas at age 53.
