High School Athletes Wrestle (+Run+Play Soccer) With Their Sexuality
A Unicorn Booty gay blog Reader pointed us in the direction of this truly inspiring blog run by three gay high school athletes in three different time zones. Walk the Road is the coming out story of WA State runner, Brad, and soccer players Ben and Robert, from the South and Midwest, respectively.
The boys write, “We are a three young adults wanting to change the way teenage gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and questioning athletes are viewed in the sports world. All of us are varsity athletes in high school who are on our own paths to being who we truly are. Brad is a runner, while Ben and Robert play soccer. We met online, became fast friends and realized there was no website out there specifically for people like us, so figured why not us? We invite you to take the stand with us and begin walking the road to equality.”
The blog is still in it’s early stages, not unlike the guys themselves. Readers are encouraged to share their own stories about coming out to their teams and friends, a tactic effectively used by sites like I’m From Driftwood as well.
We couldn’t be prouder of these three guys. Take a moment to head over to their site and thank them for telling their stories.
