Texas Police Arrested a Man for the Murder of Kennedy Davenport’s Drag Sister

A 26-year-old in Fort Worth, Texas has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault and capital murder following the slaying of 35-year-old Jason Bradley, a drag performer known as Bianca Gisele Davenport Starr. Starr is also the “drag sister” of Kennedy Davenport, a veteran of RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 7 who is slated to appear on the show’s upcoming third installment of All-Stars. Kennedy Davenport lamented the death of her drag sister on Twitter.

The murder occurred in Jason Bradley’s home near Texas Christian University on the morning of Dec. 8, 2017. Police suspect that Bradley and the murderer met on social media and that he shot Bradley in a “robbery gone wrong.” The murderer also shot and critically wounded Bradley’s 36-year-old roommate Eric Watson. Police arrested the shooter on Wednesday.

Bradley had become a favorite among the local drag scene, performing shows at 1851 Club (the only gay bar in the nearby city of Arlington), the recently burned down Rainbow Lounge gay bar in Fort Worth and also the nearby Hooky Bar.

All three bars put up tributes to Bradley and her drag personal on their Facebook pages following news of Bradley’s death. The 1851 Club’s tribute read:

The heavens have gained another angel in Ms. Bianca Gisele Davenport Starr. She will always be a shining star in our eyes and will be greatly missed by so many. We were blessed to have you as a part of the 1851 Club family. Our love and prayers go out to her family and friends and all that were blessed to have known her.

The Rainbow Lounge’s tribute simply read, “R.I.P. Bianca Gisele Davenport Starr. Horrible Horrible Horrible loss.. Beautiful person…”

Words can't describe our broken hearts. Bianca Giselle Davenport Starr your enthusiasm, happiness & out going nature…

Kennedy Davenport also posted the following message onto Twitter:

Bianca Giselle Davenport Starr had recently won the titles of Miss Dallas Pride 2017 and Miss Texas State At Large 2017 in local drag pageants. She is actually the second member of the Davenport drag family to recently pass away. Sahara Davenport, a drag queen who starred in Season 2 of RuPaul’s Drag Race, died of heart failure in Baltimore, Maryland on Oct. 1, 2012.
