From Alexander Wang to Balmain, Swedish ‘fast fashion’ giant H&M loves to team up with big-name labels and designers, bringing high-fashion sensibilities to its low-cost wares. Fans of H&M are well aware of these designer collaborations, as they’ve been a regular occurrence for the last 13 years. This past weekend (at Coachella, natch) saw the new H&M collaboration announced: a teamup with Jeremy Scott, the creative genius behind Moschino.
The new H&M collaboration with Jeremy Scott will be available in H&M stores and online Nov. 8.
Scott says about the new H&M collaboration (officially called MOSCHINO [TV] H&M), “Like all my collections, it’s humor meets haute couture meets the street. … For fans of the brand, it should feel a little like a greatest hits collection, but I promise it will still be new, still feel fresh, even as we include some winks, some hints from the past.”
Famous for putting on outlandish fashion shows, Jeremy Scott has sent true characters down the runways of Moschino and his own ready-to-wear shows, like the Marlboro Man, bikers and army soldiers.
At this year’s Academy Awards, Adam Rippon burned up the red carpet and dazzled everyone in a leather harness ensemble from Scott’s latest Moschino fall/winter menswear collection. He’s often used pop culture icons in his work as well, crafting pieces featuring both Barbie and Spongebob Squarepants.
Never shying away from over-the-top designs, we can’t wait to see what comes from this new H&M collaboration with Moschino.
