Here’s a Comprehensive List of Kevin Spacey’s Accusers

The reputation and career of newly out gay American actor Kevin Spacey have continued to tumble following a wave of allegations of sexual advances on young actors, crew members and others. As a result, his talent agency (Creative Artists Agency) and his publicist (Polaris) have both dropped him, as has the entertainment company Netflix. To recap his fall from grace, here’s a comprehensive list of Kevin Spacey accusers. (Click on their names for more info.)

1. Actor Anthony Rapp

As the Kevin Spacey accuser who sparked the current wave of accusations, Rapp claimed that in 1986 (when Rapp was 14 years old), Spacey invited him to a party at a New York City club followed by hanging out at Spacey’s apartment.

Rapp says he was not offered alcohol at any point, but, as the party proceeded to Spacey’s apartment, Rapp found himself bored and started hanging out alone in Spacey’s bedroom until past midnight when most of the other guests had left.

Rapp said that’s when Spacey entered the bedroom. Rapp says:

My impression when he came in the room was that he was drunk. [Spacey didn’t say anything to him.] He picked me up like a groom picks up the bride over the threshold. But I don’t, like, squirm away initially, because I’m like, ‘What’s going on?’ And then he lays down on top of me. He was trying to seduce me. I don’t know if I would have used that language. But I was aware that he was trying to get with me sexually.

Rapp left the apartment and did not discuss the incident with his mother before her death. Rapp says that as a child actor, his mother let him attend the theater and parties on his own, something he realizes she’d receive criticism for were she still alive.

2. Film director Tony Montana

Montana says Spacey “put his hand on my crotch forcefully and grabbed my whole package” while the two were at a Los Angeles bar in 2003. He also claims the actor followed him into the bathroom before he told Spacey’s friends “It’s time to take your boy home.” Spacey and his pals left shortly thereafter.

3. Actor Roberto Cavazos

In a Spanish-language Facebook post, Cavazos said Spacey sexually harassed him and many other young actors at the London’s Old Vic Theatre where Spacey served as artistic director from 2003 to 2015. He said Spacey would invite men to “talk about their career” and then try and seduce them at the theater bar or with a romantically lit onstage picnic.

4. Unnamed person #1

An unnamed 48-year-old actor who lives on the East Coast says he had a sexual relationship with Spacey from age 14 to 24. He alleges the relationship started when the two met in New York City and ended after Spacey attempted to rape him. “I would call him a pedophile and a sexual predator,” the man says. Spacey has denied the allegations.

5. Unnamed person #2 (“John”)

A man calling himself John told the BBC that he met Spacey at age 16 in the year 1984. A year later, Spacey allegedly invited John to his New York City apartment and invited him to his bed. When John declined and slept on the couch instead, he said he heard Spacey sobbing through the night. When John woke the next morning, he said that Spacey was resting his head on John’s stomach, his arms wrapped around him, only wearing underwear.

6. Bartender Daniel Beal

Beal says that when he was a 19-year-old bartender at Goodwood Park Hotel near the Old Vic Theatre in London, Spacey sat down next to him during a cigarette break and exposed his genitals to him, commenting, “It’s big, isn’t it?” and pulling Beal’s hand towards it. Spacey allegedly gave him a $6,500 Swiss watch as an apology. Beal claims Spacey’s management asked him to return the watch and then lodged a complaint with the hotel after Beal claimed to have lost the watch, though he had sold it for nearly $4,200 the day after Spacey allegedly gave it to him.

7 – 14. Eight crew members from House of Cards

Eight crew members from the Netflix political drama series have alleged that Spacey made inappropriate sexual comments and engaged in nonconsensual touching on the set of the show. One former production assistant said Spacey put his hands down his pants while he was driving Spacey to a location.

Another crew member said Spacey would repeatedly put his hands on him and created a “toxic” work environment, especially for young men. They also allege supervisors knew about Spacey’s harassment of crew members but only did their best never to leave younger men alone around Spacey.

Netflix is continuing to look into these allegations. In the meantime, Spacey won’t be appearing in the series any longer, nor will Netflix air a documentary on gay political writer Gore Vidal in which Spacey also appears.

15. Unnamed man #3

An actor alleges that Kevin Spacey “repeatedly sexually assaulted him in a public place in 2013.” This man contacted a sexual harassment hotline set up by the Old Vic Theatre to report his story and was reportedly dismayed when the theater’s executive director (rather than a neutral third party) contacted him to hear his account. The man alleges that Spacey treated the Old Vic “like a playground.” The Old Vic calls the man’s characterization of the theater environment under Spacey “false.”

16. Unnamed man #4

An unnamed 32-year-old actor in London alleges that in 2008, when he was 23 years old, he smoked cannabis at Spacey’s South London home at a meeting to discuss the man’s career. The man fell asleep under the influence of the drug and allegedly woke up with Spacey performing oral sex on him. He told Spacey to stop and Spacey reportedly told him not to tell anyone what had happened. London legal authorities are investigating the allegation.

17. Justin Dawes

Dawes says that in 1988 when he was 16 years old, Spacey invited him and his friend over to watch the noir film Chinatown with some of Spacey’s friends. When the teenagers arrived at Spacey’s temporary New York apartment, no one besides Spacey was there and gay pornography was playing on the TV. Spacey had made the boys cocktails, but they claim they left quickly.

18. Unnamed man #5

An unnamed journalist who has remained anonymous to protect his career claims that in the early 2000s he interviewed Spacey in London for a national magazine. After the interview, Spacey allegedly invited the man out with some of Spacey’s friends for drinks. At the club, Spacey allegedly began grabbing the man’s penis, repeatedly sitting next to him and caressing his leg while sexually propositioning him.

The journalist said he told Spacey that he was “in a serious, live-in relationship with a woman,” but Spacey continued to aggressively pursue him, even going so far as to block the man’s exit from the bar and yell in his face and call him a coward for wanting to leave. “He had somehow convinced himself that this was a sexual liaison that we both wanted,” the journalist says.

19. Harry Dreyfuss, the son of actor/director Richard Dreyfuss

Dreyfuss says he met Spacey in 2008 when “he was directing my father, Richard Dreyfuss, in a play called Complicit at the Old Vic in London.” He claims that during a reading, Spacey sat next to him and put his hand on his thigh. Harry rose and changed seats, Spacey sat next to him again and did the same thing. Harry moved once more, placing his hands protectively on his thighs, at which point Spacey snuck his hand back on his thigh, eventually cupping Harry’s genitals.

Harry says his father did not notice because he was focused on reading through the script. Harry also says he didn’t want to say anything at the time for fear of ruining his father’s opportunity to work with the famous actor who had hired him. Harry told his father about it years later.

“He knew he could fondle me in a room with my father and that I wouldn’t say a word. He knew I wouldn’t have had the guts,” Harry said. “And I didn’t.”

20. Former TV Anchor Heather Unruh

Unruh claims that Spacey sexually assaulted her son in July 2016 when he was 18 years old. She says that Spacey gave her son drinks inside of a Nantucket, Massachusetts, bar and then “stuck his hand inside my son’s pants and grabbed his genitals.” Her son reportedly fled the bar after Spacey went to the toilet.

Unruh had alluded to the alleged assault in an Oct. 13, 2017, tweet which read “The #WeinsteinScandal has emboldened me — #truth time. I was a Kevin Spacey fan until he assaulted a loved one. Time the dominoes fell.”

We will continue to update this story as more Kevin Spacey accusers share their stories.
