A Member of Norway’s Royal Family Accused Kevin Spacey of Groping Him at a Nobel Prize Event
Before yesterday, newly out gay American actor Kevin Spacey had somewhere around 20 sexual misconduct allegations against him (the actual amount is unclear because an unspecified number of male workers from the Old Vic theatre in London, where Spacey has served as artistic director from 2003 to 2015, have also come forward with allegations). But yesterday, a new allegation surfaced against Spacey and it came from a very high profile individual: a former member of Norway’s royal family.
The Kevin Spacey Norway allegation
In an interview with the Norwegian radio station P4, Danish-Norwegian writer Ari Behn, a man formerly married to Norwegian Princess Märtha Louise — the woman fourth in line for succession to Norway’s throne — accused Spacey of molesting him a decade ago at a Nobel Peace Prize concert.
Spacey co-hosted the concert that year with Uma Thurman, and Behn alleges that Spacey grabbed his genitals while suggesting a cigarette break during the concert.
The 46-year-old writer said, “We had a nice conversation, he was sat next to me. After five minutes, he says, ‘Hey, let’s go out and have a cigarette,’ and then he touched me right on the (genitals) under the table.”
Behn was married to the Norwegian princess from 2002 to 2016.
The Kevin Spacey Norway allegation is similar to that of British bartender Daniel Beal. Beal claimed that Spacey exposed himself to Beal during a cigarette break outside of a hotel near the Old Vic theatre.
Beal claimed that Spacey said, “It’s big, isn’t it?” and pulled Beal’s hand towards his penis. Spacey allegedly gave Beal a $6,500 Swiss watch as an apology and Beal reportedly sold it for nearly $4,200 the next day.
Spacey has not responded to Behn’s allegation and is currently in an Arizona luxury rehab center for sex addiction while the Netflix political drama House of Cards considers how to tackle its final season without him as its star.
