Twin lesbian indie-pop duo Tegan and Sara just unveiled the Tegan and Sara Foundation, a foundation that pledges to do all of the following:

“support the work of other organizations who have been fighting for LGBTQ and women’s rights by raising funds and awareness for their initiatives fight against the repressive legislation of the incoming Trump administration…. fight against regressive homophobic, transphobic, and misogynistic legislation…. fight for economic, racial and gender justice…. dismantle the systems of inequity that prevent LGBTQ girls and women from reaching their full potential.”

Oh is that all?

The sisters told Rolling Stone that they underwent a “listening and learning tour” during their fall roadshow during which they “spent their time reading fan letters and meeting with them in person along with activists, legislators, researchers and nonprofits that work specifically with LGBTQ causes.” In the end, they “learned that LGBTQ women and girls are feeling overwhelmingly rejected and left behind.”
