Gay porn star Matthew Rush (birth name Greg Grove) was arrested yesterday in Wilton Manors, Florida — a city north of north of Fort Lauderdale — on charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession/use of drug paraphernalia. The gay porn gossip site The Sword first reported on these Matthew Rush meth charges (link very NSFW).
The meth charge is a third-degree felony, and his bond is set at $1,000. In his mugshot, Grove has a sunken face and bloodshot eyes, in sharp contrast to his trademark athletic good looks from his lengthy porn career.
Rush became famous as a muscular versatile-bottom performing as a lifetime exclusive with Falcon Studios, but his career with them ended in 2009. In 2010, he earned a Grabby Award and GayVN Award in the category “Best Versatile Performer.” His films include Whorrey Potter and the Sorcerer’s Balls and Full Access.
He also appeared in Bruce La Bruce’s 2010 porno-horror film L.A. Zombie, the lowest audience-ranked LGBTQ film on Rotten Tomatoes.
His short-lived retirement ended in January 2012 when he resumed performing in gay porn films.
The Matthew Rush meth charge follows an assault charge
Earlier this year, Grove was arrested for assault and battery against his boyfriend. Grove claimed he had struck his ex in self-defense after his ex forcefully pushed him out of the house. He later claimed the hit occurred accidentally when his ex “ran into his forearm” (link NSFW).
A Florida court later declined to prosecute the case citing a lack of information.
Matthew Rush is merely the latest adult film star to wind up in the news. In February, gay-for-pay porn star (and known white supremacist) Cameron Diggs was arrested for trafficking meth in Dallas, Texas.
