Supatra had been teased and called “monkey face” and “wolf girl” by her classmates, but has recently become the most popular girl in class – and the World’s Hairiest Girl, certified by The Guinness Book of World Records.
“I’m very happy to be in the Guinness World Records! A lot of people have to do a lot to get in,” Supatra said. “All I did was answer a few questions and then they gave it to me.”
Supatra is one of only 50 people in the world known to have Ambras Syndrome, where a faulty chromosome triggers uncontrollable hair growth.
The Barcroft Media video below is something else – you just have to see this girl to believe it!
It’s inspiring that she is able to lead a normal, happy life – she even seems proud of her rare condition! People facing adversity and embracing what truly makes them different is always refreshing.
