Infamous “Club Kid Killer” Michael Alig was arrested last week for trespassing and smoking crystal meth, reports The Daily News.
This (obviously) isn’t the first time Alig has been in the headlines. In 1996, he pleaded guilty to the murder of his drug dealer, Andre “Angel” Melendez. He served 17 years in prison for the crime that was the focus of the 2003 film Party Monster starring Macaulay Culkan as Alig.
Last week, he was busted for trespassing and smoking crystal meth in a park outside the Bronx Supreme Court. A cop caught him in Joyce Kilmer Park in Concourse after the park closed, according to a criminal complaint. Police found in his jacket pocket a bag of crystal meth and a pipe with residue from the drug.
Alig, though, says not everything is as it seems. He told Page Six it was just some “confusion over healing crystals.” He explains he was carrying a healing crystal called “piedra alumbre,” which the cops mistook for drugs.
The police couldn’t immediately provide any records to confirm that claim.
