Gay Porn Mogul Michael Lucas Calls All Muslims ‘Barbarians’

Michael Lucas, the gay porn impresario behind Lucas Entertainment, has gained an infamous reputation of late for allegedly leaving an AirBNB filthy with porn performers’ bodily fluids and for allegedly retaliating against porn stars who accuse his studio of spreading sexually transmitted infections.

This weekend, Lucas sat down for an interview with Aaron Klein on “Aaron Klein Investigative Radio,” a New York and Philadelphia AM talk radio show. Klein wrote such books as The REAL Benghazi Story: What the White House and Hillary Don’t Want You to Know and The Manchurian President: Barack Obama’s Ties to Communists, Socialists and Other Anti-American Extremists. He’s also senior reporter and Mideast bureau chief of, the self-proclaimed “platform for the alt-right” infamous for peddling #Pizzagate, Obama birtherism and anti-Muslim conspiracy theories.

Discussing the reports of gay men being kidnapped and tortured in Chechnya and gay guts being thrown off of buildings by Daesh/ISIS, Lucas replied:

We can’t change their society…. We have to make peace with that fact. What I always recommend is when you see how these people live, what they do, start appreciating more our society. And protect our society from those barbarians as vigorously as they protect their society, their way of living, their way of thinking.

When asked who “barbarians” referred to, Lucas replied, “I am referring to the Muslim world. To the world of Islam.” He then reiterated his support for U.S. President Donald Trump’s policies of extreme vetting and banning of immigrants from Muslim-majority countries — the likes of which have been declared unconstitutional by U.S. courts.

Lucas’ larger argument was that all Muslims are anti-gay and that by allowing them into the U.S., we endanger our pro-gay way of life. First off, a 2014 survey by the Pew Research Center showed that American Muslims are more likely to support same-sex marriage than Evangelical Christians. In fact, millions of American Muslims (including immigrants from Muslim-majority countries) support LGBTQ rights while living here.

Second off, there are many pro-LGBTQ Muslims, some of whom are queer and some of whom are fighting for queer rights in their home countries, so painting of all Muslims as anti-gay is simplistic and wrong.

It’s also worth pointing out that the U.S. is not incredibly pro-gay — we only legalized same-sex intercourse less than 15 years ago, same-sex marriage two years ago and most states still allow gay people to be fired from their jobs just for being gay. Many Republican legislators and religious conservatives would also love to roll back gay rights. In fact, a 2015 survey of gay men ranked the U.S. as the 26th best country in the world to be gay.

But it’s no surprise coming from Lucas. In his 2010 column for The Advocate, he dismissed all of Islamic culture by stating “whatever that may be” and said that a Muslim cultural center should not be located close to the former site of the World Trade Center. In doing so, he erased the Muslim victims of September 11th and basically advocated for banning certain religions in public spaces — that’s about as un-American as you can get.
