4 of the World’s Drag Legends Are Banding Together for a Special Show, ‘National Treasures’

When we heard that four of the funniest drag queens of all time would be getting together for a gig, we squealed! Jackie Beat, Lady Bunny, Bianca Del Rio and Sherry Vine are joining forces for National Treasures, a two-hour show that promises to serve up “some incredible #DragQueenRealness!”

RuPaul’s Drag Race is heralded as having ushered in the Golden Age of Drag. But for these four drag legends, they didn’t need the hit reality show to catapult them to fame. Instead they relied on their talent and hitting the payment over the last few decades, and thankfully for us they are now joining forces to give us a night full of laughs and reads.

On June 15, they’re playing Boise, Idaho, and then Seattle, Washington on June 21. They promise us there could be more shows scheduled later this year, so we’re hoping they’ll be in our neck of the woods soon.

We asked three of the four queens about the experience of working together on this new show. Here’s what they had to tell us.

Jackie Beat

“I have done a million shows and worked with a lot of amazing people, but this is really my favorite,” says Jackie Beat. “First of all, we’re all friends — for real. Second, and I probably shouldn’t say this, but the real show happens backstage when we’re all spilling tea and acting like fools and saying things we could never say onstage. It’s just a blast! Trust me, if there was a hidden camera in the dressing room it would instantly be the end of all our careers! But don’t worry, there’s plenty of hilarious stuff that makes it onstage.”

Lady Bunny

“This show is a real treat,” says Bunny. “I’m used to being the oldest member in the cast, but with this show I’m also the prettiest. It ain’t easy finding uglier bitches than me, but they managed!”

Sherry Vine

National Treasures (aka Antiques Roadshow!) is a rare opportunity to see four drag legends in one hilarious clown show! Over a millennium of drag on one stage!”
