Now Hear This: OK Go Fly, Kanyes Gonna Kanye-ye-ye-ye And More!

Be first to like this.

Hey, everybody! We’re expanding Now Hear This to not just be about music news, but all entertainment news! In this edition, OK Go’s new video, Kanye’s fighting with Taylor Swift again, a couple of Netflix renewals and more!

OK Go just released their newest music video, and it might be the most amazing one yet. Sponsored by the Russian airline S7, the video was shot in a reduced gravity aircraft — also known as a vomit comet, which flies in a parabolic arc to give the passengers the feeling of weightlessness for about 27 seconds. If you’re curious about how they made this amazing video, OK Go posted a FAQ about it and Red Bull talked to lead singer Damian Kulash and director Trish Sie.

Kanye West has been busy this week! His newest album, The Life Of Pablo, comes out today after a Madison Square Garden premiere of it yesterday. He’s also declared Bill Cosby innocent — one of our favorite reactions was this from Battlecar Compactica on the A.V. Club forums:

Yo, Andrea Constand, Autumn Burns, Barbara Bowman, Beth Ferrier, Beverly Johnson, Carla Ferrigno, Charlotte Fox, Chelan Lasha, Chloe Goins, Cindra Ladd, Colleen Hughes, Donna Motsinger, Eden Tirl, Heidi Thomas, Helen Gumpel, Helen Hayes, Janice Baker-Kinney, Janice Dickinson, Jewel Allison, Joan Tarshis, Joyce Emmons, Judy Huth, Kathy McKee, Kaya Thompson, Kristina Ruehli, Lachelle Covington, Lili Bernard, Linda Brown, Linda Joy Traitz, Linda Kirkpatrick, Linda Ridgeway Whitedeer, Lisa Christie, Lisa Jones, Lisa-Lotte Lublin, Louisa Moritz, Marcella Tate, Margie Shapiro, Michelle Hurd, Pamela Abeyta, Patricia Leary Steuer, PJ Masten, Rebecca Lynn Neal, Renita Chaney Hill, Sammie Mays, Sarita Butterfield, Sharon Van Ert, Shawn Brown, Sunni Welles, Tamara Green, Therese Serignese, Victoria Valentino and Angela Leslie, I’m really sorry for you, I’mma let you finish, but Cosby is one of the most innocent accused rapists of all time! One of the most innocent of all time!

But that’s not the only way he’s winning friends and influencing people: He’s reignited his beef with the original target of the “Imma let you finish” rant, Taylor Swift. In the song “Famous” from the new record, a lyric is: “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex/ I made that bitch famous.” Though Kanye called Taylor to tell her it was a joke, she remained unamused:

In happier Kanye news, though, this week he also announced he was working on a new video game! Kanye says Only One will be about his mother getting through the gates of heaven.

Netflix subscribers rejoice! Aziz Ansari’s Master of None will be coming back for a second season in 2017. Where it’ll go remains to be seen — previously, Ansari said he’d need some time to “refill his head” with ideas. Apparently it’s getting there! Netflix has also announced some news about the new season of Charlie Brooker’s brilliant series Black Mirror: Upcoming directors on the twelve-episode season will include Owen Harris (Kill Your Friends) and Joe Wright (Pride & Prejudice). Harris also directed “Be Right Back” from season two of Black Mirror. Some of the actors in upcoming episodes are Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Mackenzie Davis, Bryce Dallas Howard and Alice Eve.

Charlie Brooker’s occasional collaborator Chris Morris is also working on new material. It was just announced that he is working with Film 4 on his second feature-length film. His first feature, Four Lions, took a satirical look at terrorism and those drawn to it. Nothing has yet been revealed about his new feature, though given Morris’ track record with the television series Brass EyeNathan BarleyThe Day Today and Jam, it will likely be viciously, darkly hilarious, yet with a huge heart and brain that make it worth checking out. His most recent work has been on the third season of Stewart Lee’s Comedy Vehicle, available on both Netflix and Hulu.

New Music This Week: Aside from The Life Of Pablo, there’s a new live album from Peter Murphy of Bauhaus, Wild Birds Live Tour.

There’s a new best of for American Idol‘s Daughtry, It’s Not Over: The Hits.

Omnivore Recordings is putting out a pair of JD Souther reissues, Home By Dawn and Black Rose.

Australian country-rock artist Henry Wagons is releasing After What I Did Last Night…

Folk-rocker Frank Turner is releasing a hits-and-rarities disc, Ten For Ten.
