Typically known for its collegiate sportswear feel and look, several New York collections this year departed from the traditional.
With the excitement of Raf Simons (whose artistic presentation paid homage to the Big Apple) and his first men’s collection in New York City, edgy designers like N.Hoolywood (a politically charged presentation that focused on homeless chic) to Rochambeau’s punk-inspired show (a collaboration with Devo’s Mark Mothersbaugh), New York men’s fashion week showed us how to be tough and fierce.
Streetwear-inspired looks are everywhere. We also spotted outfits with full pants and oversized outerwear in vibrant colors (three key trends from recent London and Paris fashion weeks) here. Gone are squeaky clean images; hard and funky looks are prevalent in this season’s presentation.
