There were lots of fab happenings all weekend long in New York City for Pride. Thousands of revelers gathered in the Big Apple for all types of events. From rooftop rages to drag queen crownings to music festivals, there were lots of reasons to show up and show your pride.
If you were there, you’re probably still recovering. If not, don’t worry. Hornet was there to catch a lot of the action at some of the top events.
On Friday, RuPaul’s Drag Race crossed the finish line at Stage 48. Reigning queen Bob The Drag Queen crowned Sasha Velour and Bianca Del Rio hosted. The top seven finalists — Valentina, Nina Bo’Nina Brown, Alexis Michelle, Peppermint, Velour, Shea Coulee and Trinity Taylor — all performed for the sold out crowd.
Later that night, lots of hot men showed up in their sexiest uniforms and kick-off Pride weekend right at Fantasy. Brian Rafferty Productions helped bring the event to new heights at Highline Ballroom. Ralphi Rosario and Eddie Martinez kept the crowd dancing all night long with their beats.
On Saturday, the 7th anniversary of the VIP Rooftop Party took over one of New York’s most exclusive rooftop venues. DJs Alex Acosta, GSP and Hannah kept the crowd moving three gorgeous levels.
Later Saturday, Voss Events transformed the 102nd floor of One World Trade Center, the nation’s tallest building into a dance party with lots of sickening performance art happening everywhere.
Pride Sunday, the lovely and talented Candis Cayne performed to a packed house during Day Dream, a day party on the rooftop of The Penthouse at the Dream Downtown.
That is just a slice of the madness and debauchery that took place all weekend long. If you were there, we hope that hang over is almost over. If not, there is always next year to get in on all the fun.
