One agency is working to meet the call for more trans faces in media. In 2014, Thailand’s Apple Model Management became the first agency to represent trans models in addition to cisgender models — a huge break for trans representation that gets a thumbs up for us for that alone.

But Apple Model isn’t stopping there. News has come out that Apple is opening a new agency in Los Angeles — Apple Model Management L.A. — which will represent trans models exclusively. While trans-exclusive agencies are rare, there is one other: Transcendence Icon, which opened earlier this year.

Apple L.A.’s agency director is Cecilio Asuncion; this is the second “director” title Asuncion has picked up.  Asuncion made one of the few documentaries about trans women, What’s The T? (available on Hulu). The film follows entertainers Cassandra Cass, Nya Ampon, Rakash Armani, Vi Le, and Mia Tu Mutch as they find success and happiness.

Apple Model Management L.A. already has six women on their roster, including Arisce Wanzer, the woman in the featured image above. Apple is also looking for transmen models who are looking for representation. Application materials and photos may be emailed directly to Asuncion at cecilio@applemodels.com.

While the rest of the Apple Model Management L.A. roster remains under wraps, here are some other trans models from Transcendence Icon and the original Thailand Apple Model.
