Johnson City, Tennessee police are trying to figure out whether or not a hate crime was committed when someone dumped a pile of animal bones and nails outside a home festooned in rainbow flags.

WJHL writes:

The homeowner said she believes this could be a hate crime because of the rainbow flags she has up on the home.

She told police she saw a loud white pickup truck early Monday morning and she reportedly heard a man and a woman say, “put it here.”

We’re hoping the culprit was just a sloppy butcher or a very large cat, but if the victim’s suspicions are right, then this is a very disturbing crime. Dead animal parts and nails? Seriously creepy.
