Trump Campaign Chair Caught in Motel Room with Teen Boy

GOP Oklahoma Senator and Trump Campaign Chair Ralph Shortey is under investigation after being caught in a motel room with an underage boy.

Last Thursday, KOCO News reports, Shortey checked into a Super 8 Motel a little after midnight, asking for a room with two beds. When the police arrived 30 minutes later for a welfare check, they found Shortey with a juvenile male.

KOCO visited Shortey’s office. They found a letter on his door stating he’d be out for the week.

Police are currently investigating the circumstances of the incident. They’re also looking at texts sent between Shortey and the teen, according to News OK.

According to his bio, Shortey studied for missionary work in Uganda (you know, that country where American Christians convinced the government to kill the gays), but went into the oil and gas industry instead. In 2015, Shortey proudly announced that he had been tapped as Oklahoma’s chair for the Trump campaign.

Oklahoma Democratic Party Chair Mark Hammons released a statement calling for Shortey to step down:

While a final resolution should await completion of the police investigation, Sen Ralph Shortey owes it to his constituents and all taxpayers to suspend himself from all official activities. This is far too embarrassing to have him speak, vote or represent Oklahoma on any issue.
