This year’s RuPaul’s DragCon in Los Angeles ended with an exciting announcement that the convention would be sashaying its way to New York City this September for this first time ever. However, when excited fans went to the website to buy their tickets for RuPaul’s DragCon NYC, they found that “due to popular demand,” the weekend had to be rescheduled.

Well, don’t worry squirrel friends. The new dates are here, cause the team behind the fabulous affair just sent us a media alert with the new information. And the convention is happening even earlier than previously announced.

The media alert for RuPaul’s DragCon NYC reads:

Presented by RuPaul and World of Wonder Productions, the inaugural RuPaul’s DragCon NYC will be held at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center on September 9 and 10, 2017. Tickets will go on sale Thursday, June 8th at Noon EST/9:00 am PST at

The two-day convention, a homecoming for RuPaul and World of Wonder Productions, will welcome fans from around the globe to the first DragCon held in the Big Apple. RuPaul’s DragCon NYC was announced after a record breaking 40,000+ fans attended the third annual DragCon held in Los Angeles earlier this year.

RuPaul’s DragCon NYC will feature vendors and exhibitors, exclusive merchandise, panel and Q&A sessions, autograph and photo opportunities with drag stars – including many from the Emmy award winning series “RuPaul’s Drag Race” – with more to be announced!

“We’re excited to bring DragCon to NYC, where our queens will prance proudly in the city of Stonewall, under the watchful eye of the fiercest queen of all, Lady Liberty,” World of Wonder co-founder Fenton Bailey adds.

We’re super excited that the convention is going bi-coastal, too! We were there in Los Angeles this year, asking attendees how they resist in with our current administration in office.
