Same-sex marriage officially became legal in Finland yesterday. Same-sex couples also gained the right to adopt children.

According to Yle, the Local Register Office of western Finland reports that 41 same-sex couples plan to wed this week.

Same-sex marriage was approved by MPs back in 2014, but conservative activists kept the law from going into effect.
