For a Long Time a Huge Penis Was Hiding on the Front Page of Bing.com (NSFW)
An eagle-eyed web user at The Daily Dot spotted a penis on the front page of Bing.com, Microsoft’s search engine. But it was easy to miss unless you looked really really closely. We’re talking Photoshop ultra-zoom close…. but it was definitely there…. for a while anyway.
Bing is pretty much like Google, except instead of displaying stylized and animated logos commemorating certain historic days, holidays and famous people, Bing’s search page regularly features breathtaking photos like sunset over bodies of water, elephants grazing in the African bush or the azure beachfront of Zlatni Rat on Brač Island, Croatia (below).
If you were searching for “gay military heroes” or “gifts for slutty friends”, you might’ve gotten your search results and been on your way, overlooking the tiny yet substantial penis hiding deep in the photo.
However, the good people of The Daily Dot (who apparently have waaaaay too much free time) spotted the phallic detail by zooming in deep. Below is an animated GIF showing what they found.
Unsurprisingly, after finding out about the sand penis hidden on their search engine, Bing digitally altered the photo to hide it. However, we were surprised to see a penis hiding on an overhead landscape shot because those kinds of pictures are really more Google’s thing.
In fact, there’s entire listicles and videos dedicated to penises captured on Google Earth and Google Maps.
Here’s a video of penises found hiding on Google Earth:
Instead of hiding the penises, we encourage Microsoft to keep them hiding in plain sight. Not only does it provide harmless amusement for sophomoric web users like us, it also provides a learning opportunity for any folks who happen to find it.
Learning and discovery! That’s what search engines are all about, right?
