Straight Men Are Most Definitely Watching Gay Porn

In a study just shared by The Advocate, findings show that approximately one in five straight men are watching gay porn.

The Advocate writes:

A new study published in the Archives of Sexual Behaviour, which examined the porn-viewing habits of 821 gay, straight, and bisexual men from around the country, found a number of unexpected results. Among them: that 55 percent of gay men watch straight porn, and 21 percent of straight men watch gay porn.

Gay men are most likely watching straight porn to watch straight men in their natural habitat. (I mean, I doubt we are doing it for the blow job techniques.) I personally love straight porn, especially the “straight men made for gay eyes” content you can find out there. (Yes, it’s a thing. Imagine hotter men, a lot more zooming in on the thrusting and a partially clothed woman out of focus.)

But why are straight men watching gay porn? Are they down-low? Are they finding some techniques to learn from us to bring into the bedroom with their female partners? Maybe these men are making sure they aren’t gay, so they’re watching gay porn to see if they get a “hard on”—or a “hard off.” Or maybe these straight men are on their own path to being bisexual.

The study did give participants the ability to identify as bisexual, making this straight male population more defined in their sexuality as straight. But “men having sex with men” and “men wanting to have sex with men” are two different things, are they not? As many can attest, there are things one watches in porn that they’d never actually do in real life.
