Pop knows no borders in Major Lazer’s latest video “Sua Cara,” which features two of Brazilian hottest pop culture personalities: One a cisgender female pop star, and the other a drag queen.
Major Lazer released the track “Sua Cara” on June 1, 2017. The title translates to “Your Face” and features Brazilian singer Anitta and drag queen Pabllo Vittar on vocals. The video was released July 30, and in just 24 hours amassed 17.9 million views.
That feat gave the video 17th place on Wikipedia’s “List of most viewed online videos in the first 24 hours.”
The video is a sexy, sandy dream in the desert, featuring Anitta and Vittar bumping and grinding to the song’s tropical and tribal beats.
On June 20, Major Lazer traveled to Morocco along with Anitta and Vittar to record the music video for “Sua Cara”. It was directed by Bruno Ilogti. The track is off Lazer’s new EP Know No Better. It was released on June 1, 2017 by Mad Decent.
