At a recent Football Federation Australia match, a group of Western Sydney Wanderers fans whipped out an enormous banner featuring a drawing of Sydney FC manager Graham Arnold sucking a dick:

The Football Federation Australia called the banner “offensive to any reasonable member of the public.”

The Sydney Rangers FC, a gay soccer club, are especially angry. “It sends out a message that it’s okay to mock people based on sexuality,” president Joseph Roppolo said. He called for a one- to two-year ban on the fans responsible for the banner.

But the group responsible, the Red and Black Bloc (a reference to the black bloc protest tactics beloved by anarchists) are unrepentant. On Facebook, they write, “We find it ironic that it takes the FFA barely 24 hours to respond to a banner deemed ‘offensive’, but take over 12 months to even commence an appeals process agreed upon in December 2015.

Clearly football in this country is in the wrong hands.”

They’re also thinking about selling merchandise with the blowjob image on it.
