‘Rocket Man’ and 5 Other Trump Nicknames for His Political Rivals
From ‘Rocket Man’ to ‘Little Marco’, here are the stories behind five Trump nicknames that have stuck to his political rivals
Hillary Clinton has been many things in her life: a practicing lawyer, a law professor, an activist, the First Lady of Arkansas, the First Lady of the United States, a senator from New York, and Secretary of State for the U.S. And now, most people in the world also know her as the candidate who lost to Donald Trump in the 2016 U.S. presidential election.
Hillary Clinton has been an advocate for children, families, and social justice for over 40 years. In 1995 she famously said “human rights are women’s rights and women’s rights are human rights” to the UN conference on women in Beijing.
This fight for social justice also extends to gay rights. In the U.S. Senate, Clinton fought for legislation to address hate crimes and protect LGBT Americans in the workplace, and she advocated to end restrictions that blocked LGBT Americans from adopting children.
As secretary of state, Clinton advanced LGBT rights abroad and implemented stronger anti-discrimination regulations within the State Department. She led the effort to pass the first U.N. Resolution on LGBT Human Rights, started the Global Equality Fund, ended State Department regulations that denied same-sex couples and their families equal rights, helped create LGBT-friendly workplace policies, and more.
