After reading that headline, we know what you’re thinking: What a prick. And, well, you’d be right. In the video below (which actually took place right before Christmas 2016), watch as a Texas pastor — Dave Grisham from Last Frontier Evangelism — heads to a mall in Amarillo, Texas, with the sole purpose of telling all the young boys and girls in line to meet St. Nick that there is no Santa Claus. Instead, Grisham wants all the kiddies to know that Christmas is about Jesus Christ.
“We’re going to tell the children here today the truth: that there is no Santa Claus and Christmas is about Jesus Christ,” Grisham says. “Jesus died on the cross to pay for their sins, and Jesus was born in a manger 2,016 years ago. So here we go. We’re gonna tell ’em the truth.”
Grisham then heads over to Santa’s Enchanted Village (or whatever this Texas mall calls the area where Santa and his elves invite kids to sit on his lap for a photo opp) and spouts his evangelical opinions.
“Folks, my name is pastor David,” he starts. “I wanted to tell you today that there is no such thing as Santa Claus. Santa Claus does not exist. The Christmas season is about Jesus.”
The video shows a long line of parents with their children, everyone mouths agape at the gall of this nutjob attempting to ruin their children’s holiday.
“The man you’re gonna see today is just a man in a suit dressed up like Santa, but Santa does not exist,” he goes on. “And parents, y’all need to stop lying to your children and telling them that Santa Claus is real when in fact he’s not.”
This douche nozzle Texas pastor also proceeds to discredit flying reindeer, elves and the North Pole workshop! How bloody dare he!
You can hear a few of the parents in line get restless as the tirade goes on, with some yelling at him “That’s enough!” Eventually a few dads get in the face of the Texas pastor and pressure him to leave, but not before he gets a few more “Kids, there is no Santa Claus” out of his mouth.
