LGBTQ Nation writes:
Kaine joined Dea Jones and Sharon McLeod, who are 64 and 61 respectively, in marriage on Jan. 20, with the Kentucky couple rushing to “make it legal” due to concerns over what a Trump administration might mean for gay marriage rights.
With a GOP-controlled government introducing anti-LGBTQ legislation all over the country, it’s easy to see why the women are nervous.
Kudos to Kaine for showing his support for LGBTQ rights. But it’ll take more than a few personal gestures here and there to protect marginalized people over the next few years.
