This Russian Politician Is Trying to Ban All Transgender People From His Country
Russian member of parliament Vitaliy Milonov is working on legislation that will prevent trans Russians from transitioning. He’s also suggested a transgender Russia ban that would prevent trans people elsewhere in the world from coming into his country.
“Not a single such transgender should be let onto the territory of Russia, because his passport does not correspond to reality, with regards to his name and gender,” Milonov recently said.
He also said this:
You can stamp their passport to state that this person is transgender or has completely changed their sex. What is more, it will say their real name and surname, so it is clear that this is not a woman but a man.
Any pupil in any class knows that you should not change what nature has given you. It is necessary to strip the license from doctors who carry out such operations.
Milonov claims gender affirmation surgery stars when “a woman loses her mind, then becomes a liberal, a feminist and, of course after that, a lesbian.”
This isn’t the first time Milonov has made an utter fool of himself. In 2015 he tried to stop smartphones with LGBT-related emoji from being sold in Russia. Before the Sochi Olympics, Milonov said gay athletes could be arrested for “promoting homosexuality to minors.”
In 2013, when a reporter asked if Milonov was fighting a war against gay people, he said, “It is a shame and it is a sin but it is a personal choice. It is not normal but a person cannot be punished in Russia for being homosexual, or to live with a dog, with a horse, with a sheep, whatever.”
In 2014, while explaining why openly gay Apple CEO Tim Cook should be banned from Russia for coming out, Milonov said, “What could he bring us? The Ebola virus, AIDS, gonorrhea? They all have unseemly ties over there.”
It’s not only the queer community Milonov hates. He’s also an outspoken anti-Semite who has parroted the lie about the Jews killing Jesus and encourages anti-Semitic riots.
