These Photos Show How Australia’s ‘Trough’ Party Has Sexed-Up London’s Scene
Editor’s Note: The pics of London’s Trough party in the gallery below could be considered NSFW for some.
The hottest gay party in Australia landed on UK shores during Easter of this year, only to get bigger and better every time since. TROUGH London III (the party’s third installment, which took place Saturday, Aug. 26 from 10 p.m.–6 a.m.) pushed the boundaries even further, offering up kinky performances, play areas and a smashing array of DJs. It’s a party that lovingly invites its attendees to “bend over the rules.”
Dark Room Beats
Relative newcomer (and total cutie) DJ Zolastrasse played an awesome set in the Dark Room of the Trough party, which you’re lucky enough to be able to listen to right here.
Thanks for recording it, Zola!
International talent and balloons
The party also featured music from international DJs Massimo Paramour and DJ OMER from Berlin. Guys were losing it on the dance floor to house and techno with some solid Berghain vibes. There were balloons everywhere (it’s kind of a TROUGH thing), though they sure weren’t the only things being popped.
Kink as art
The TROUGH party stands out from the crowd due to its stunning visuals and attention to detail. The costumes, artwork and decoration at The Coronet Theatre in London’s Elephant and Castle was outstanding. (The Coronet is unfortunately closing its doors later this year, meaning this was the last Trough party to take place there.)
The man behind TROUGH, the hunky Nik Dimopoulos, is clearly a crazy creative mastermind, in the best possible way. We’d love to be able to see inside his head.
