Trump Will Deliver Commencement at Anti-LGBTQ Campus That Bans Sex
Donald Trump has agreed to deliver a commencement speech at a university that forbids its students from being LGBTQ or having sex.
The school in question is Liberty University, a private college. Founded in 1971, the ultra-Christian, ultra-conservative Liberty University requires its students to sign an honor code called The Liberty Way. The Liberty Way states, in part, “Sexual relations outside of a biblically ordained marriage between a natural-born man and a natural-born woman are not permissible at Liberty University.”
That means students are forbidden from being gay, bi or trans, and are even forbidden from having sex before marriage. Most college students aren’t married, so this effectively bans sex.
Violating the code can lead to a suspension or even a withdrawal from school. So if you’re caught being gay, you’re expelled.
And yet the university is happy to have an adulterer who has been divorced several times. It’s almost as if their commitment to sexual morality is just a smokescreen for hate.
In a statement to the Christian Broadcasting Network, Trump said:
I look forward to speaking to this amazing group of students on such a momentous occasion. Our children truly are the future and I look forward to celebrating the success of this graduating class as well as sharing lessons as they embark on their next chapter full of hope, faith, optimism, and a passion for life.
We’re starting to suspect that Trump’s claim to be pro-LGBTQ was a little insincere.
