These 15 Colorful Portraits from Late Photographer Walt Cessna Will Turn You On (Photos)
This week, 48-year-old artist and author Walt Cessna died, leaving behind countless photographs, clothes and artworks of his visionary work with queer New Yorkers. Predominantly known for his colorful, up-close, sexual yet plain-faced portraits of adult men, Cessna also photographed women, composed prose poetry and cultural reviews for Blackbook, published a book entitled Fukt 2 Start With, worked as a former sex worker and drug dealer, wrote and edited for various publications (like Details, Vanity Fair and The Village Voice), had occasional collaborations with artist and fashion designer Scooter LaForge, was HIV-positive and took plenty of sexual self-portraits.
Sissydude has an excellent mega-post of some of Cessna’s best photography throughout his career (including numerous NSFW shots). We’ve scoured the web for some of Cessna’s sexiest, most colorful shots and shared them with you below. Looking through them makes us want to grab some queer pals, bust out the paint and weird clothes, get naked and snap some shots. Do it. Cessna would likely approve.
