An off-shoot of the 27-year-old White Party Palm Springs, thrown since 1990 by Southern California party promoter Jeffrey Sanker, White Party Bangkok is one of the world’s biggest gay dance party events, and it’s the only official White Party in Asia. It’s organized in conjunction with Thailand’s Cloud 9, Inc.
For the last three days, more than 10,000 guys from around the world have been dancing away 2017, and tonight, everything comes to a climax at Thailand’s biggest gay New Year festival.
Begun in 2015, White Party Bangkok is typically a series of four huge parties that take place over three days. This third year, though — dubbed XTREME Edition — saw the addition of a fifth party and a fourth day of partying. In addition to the four signature parties — the Military Ball, the Jock Ball, the Main Event: Dream World and Mega Bash 2018 — White Party Bangkok introduced AGM: The Opening Party on Thursday night.
The parties this year were held at CentralWorld, in Bangkok, the 10th largest shopping complex in the world, complete with a hotel and office tower.
Hornet is also present at this year’s White Party Bangkok as one of the huge event’s sponsors. The world’s premier gay social network is supplying the festival’s sexy go-go dancers and photo opportunities throughout the parties.
Among the talent at this year’s White Party Bangkok were DJ Thomas Solvert from Spain; X Factor UK winner Alexandra Burke; DJs Tommy Love (Brazil) and Hector Fonseca (USA); Thailand DJ Danny Dee; Drag Race Season 7 (and upcoming All Stars 3) contestant Kennedy Davenport hosting a “Best Butt” contest; and Offer Nissim, arguably the world’s biggest gay DJ.
Tonight’s finale event, taking place at Muang Thai GMM Live House at CentralWorld, features DJ Suri (Spain), a surprise performer, a countdown show at 11:55 p.m. and Sagi Kariv (Israel), who gets the real party started at midnight.
