The world’s largest LGBTQ+ film festival is back and better than ever as Frameline48 returns to the Bay Area from June 19-29, 2024, with an exciting new lineup of films and events. As in prior years, Hornet remains a proud event sponsor, continuing to help amplify queer voices.
Frameline48 will host a Juneteenth Block Party on June 19, the much-anticipated opening night. This event honors Juneteenth’s historical significance and celebrates Black LGBTQ+ voices with live drag performances and community activities. It will be followed by a screening of Lil Nas X: Long Live Montero.
The festival features an impressive list of films, including full-length movies, documentaries, and shorts. Some highlights include All Shall Be Well, a poignant portrayal of an older queer couple navigating societal biases, and I Don’t Understand You, which features actors Nick Kroll and Andrew Rannells as a happily married couple jet-setting off to Italy to celebrate their anniversary. Another standout is Fallen Fruit, which follows the “naïve but charming Alex (Ramiro Batista) who returns home to Miami after a catastrophic breakup in New York City.”
In addition to film screenings, Frameline48 will feature various special events. Among these events is a live conversation with comedian, author, and activist Alok Vaid-Menon, accompanied by screenings of their related documentaries Alok and There Are Things To Do.
