Our Favorite Snapshots From the No Pants Subway Ride 2019
Sunday saw the No Pants Subway Ride 2019 take place in cities around the globe, from New York City to Montréal to Amsterdam. Were you lucky enough to spy subway riders in little more than their skivvies?
If you weren’t lucky enough to catch guys sporting their cutest underwear on public transportation this past weekend, we’ve gathered some of our favorite No Pants Subway Ride 2019 images — from cities around the globe — so you can still feel like you were in on the action.
The #NoPantsSubwayRide got its start in New York City in 2002, by a “prank collective” called Improv Everywhere. Now, of course, these fun events take place in more than two dozen international cities, Chicago to Copenhagen, Los Angeles to Lisbon.
Improv Everywhere claims the very first No Pants Subway Ride had only seven participants. Now, of course, it has thousands.
Here’s how they describe the idea behind the ride: “Random passengers board a subway car at separate stops in the middle of winter without pants. The participants behave as if they do not know each other, and they all wear winter coats, hats, scarves, and gloves. The only unusual thing is their lack of pants.”
Without further adieu, here are our favorite snapshots from the No Pants Subway Ride 2019:
